Frequently Asked Questions

How much is admission to the show? 

Admission to the show is £4 for adults and £2 for children. Entry for all children under 2 years of age is free. Payment by card and cash is accepted on the gate.

What are the opening times of the show?

The gates open to the public at 11:00am and the show concludes with the auction at 4:30pm.

How can I enter the competitions?

All details of the competitions available to enter can be found on this site and in the Cilcain Show Programme.  Most entries should be staged by 10:00am on show day. Please ensure you have read the Exhibitors Rules before entering. 

Where can I find a copy of the programme?

Hard copies of the Cilcain Show Programme are distributed from July onwards and a list of where you can find one will be published around this time. Until then, all updates will be posted here and on the Cilcain Show social media pages. 

Can I bring my dog to the show?

Yes, you can bring dogs to the show on the condition they are kept under control and on a lead at all times and all fouling is immediately removed. Please be mindful that there may be live animals such as sheep and cattle on the show ground and owners are urged to keep their dogs at a safe distance. Please do not leave dogs in hot cars and ensure that you have water available. Details for the dog show can be found here.

What facilities are at the show?

Toilets are located both in and outside the Village Hall and inside the Church. As well as a number of fantastic hot and cold food vendors which vary each year, a wide range of refreshments can be found at the Village Hall cafe and in the church. Both card and cash are accepted. 

Is there parking? 

Free parking is available at the owners risk. Routes to the show ground and car park will be marshalled and we ask that you please follow directions given by the stewards and marshals on the day to aid traffic flow.

The beautiful village of Cilcain is located 5 miles west of Mold in the North east of Wales. 

From Mold: 

Take the A541 towards Denbigh. After 5 miles turn left at Star Crossings and proceed 2 miles into the village of Cilcain.

 

From Ruthin:

Take the A494 towards Mold. After 8 miles turn left at Tafarn-y-Gelyn and follow the signs to Cilcain for 3 miles.

 

From Denbigh:

Take the A541 towards Mold. After 11 miles turn right at Star Crossings and proceed 2 miles into the village of Cilcain.

The road between Pantymwyn and Cilcain is narrow and has steep hills.

The White Horse is located right next to the entrance of the show and will have a range of food and real ales available on Show Day and all year round.
